“People were bringing little children to Jesus for him to place his hands on them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” And he took the children in his arms, placed his hands on them and blessed them.”Mark 10:13-16
When we started our vbs preparations these verses set our foundation. Personally these words of Jesus really was my biggest motivator and gave me purpose and drive for this vbs. Today was the last day, we finished strong and I believe we walked out these verses and brought them to life.
In our ending service we had a time where I shared the gospel with all the kids and asked if they wanted to accept Jesus in their lives and receive salvation. Almost every single kid raised their hand. The staff team got in a line and prayed over each kid and welcomed them to the Kingdom.
From the bottom of my heart this was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had and one of the most beautiful things I’ve ever witnessed. As I was explaining to the kids what just happened and what this meant to God I couldn’t help but cry. Tears of joy were rolling down my face because I couldn’t help but rejoice in what god has done.
I truly believe that God did something special. He has planted seeds, called His children home and brought them into a loving relationship. This made absolutely everything worth it. That moment was what we all worked so hard for this week, to witness salvation and see the gospel and love of Jesus shower these children. Praise God for what He has done!
I saw God today.
