Today was our Thanksgiving combined service, where both our English ministry and Korean ministry comes together to worship as one body with a heart of Thanksgiving. I always enjoy combined services because I believe it’s beautiful to come together with one heart despite the language barriers and cultural differences before our one Father.
Today I did the translation so I was able to stand on stage and have front row view of our congregation. As I was standing there looking out at everyone I couldn’t help but smile. To see children with their parents, grandparents with their grandchildren, caucasians and Koreans all sitting next to eachother unified.
Also one of our Refresh members joined with the praise team and our youth did the offering song, and the choir performed a wonderful song of thanksgiving. As I witnessed this I couldn’t help but be convicted to think this is what the kingdom of God is. Everyone coming together from all different backgrounds to set our eyes upon our Lord and give Him our worship.
After the service our adults prepared an amazing Thanksgiving lunch with delicious food. Then our Refresh members did the dishes and the Korean young adult group helped do Christmas decorations in the church. All day today I was able to witness the church truly be the one unified church God has called us to be.
I saw God today.
